John T. Crawford, Jr.

    John is a member of Kenison, Dudley and Crawford, LLC, in its Greenville, South Carolina Office.  He is originally from Stamford, Connecticut and was raised in Marion, South Carolina where he grew up working in his family’s construction company. 

    He received his B.S. Degree from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina in 1995 where he graduated with academic and military honors.  He attended the University of South Carolina School of Law as a Carolina Scholar where he received his J.D. Degree in 2001.  He began his legal career with the construction practice group of a large national law firm in Greenville, South Carolina and later joined Kenison, Dudley & Crawford, LLC in 2005. 

    John limits his practice to construction claims and disputes, where he represents owners, general contractors, sureties, subcontractors and suppliers on projects ranging from federal prisons and waste water treatment plants to multi-use commercial real estate projects and hospitals.  He has litigated, arbitrated, and mediated various claims in both Federal and State Courts in South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia.  He is the co-author of:  Defenses in Construction Defect Case, which was published in the ABA Construction Law Journal; South Carolina Mechanics’ Liens and Bonds; and South Carolina Construction Law Update.

    He is currently a member of the: Greenville Bar Association; South Carolina Bar Association and its Construction Law Section;  and the American Bar Association and its Construction Law, Surety and Litigation Sections.

    John is married with 2 girls and 2 boys.  He is an avid pilot holding ratings as a single and multi-engine, instrument pilot who enjoys traveling in his spare time.
