Brian A. Autry
About Brian
Brian is a member of Kenison, Dudley & Crawford, LLC and practices in the firm’s Columbia, SC office. His law practice is focused primarily on construction, commercial transactions, commercial real estate, and contract litigation. He is experienced in a wide range of construction-related services: review and drafting of construction contracts, advice related to construction project management and insurance, and representation of clients in construction disputes and litigation, including mechanic’s liens, collections, and alternative dispute resolution. Brian drafts and advises clients on large commercial contracts, including agreements for the purchase and sale of goods and equipment, equipment leases, confidentiality agreements, and letters of intent. He also handles commercial real estate disputes and litigation, including collections and evictions, and he advises clients on the construction and litigation aspects of commercial lease agreements.
Brian is a member of the South Carolina Bar, the Richland and Lexington County Bar Associations, and is admitted to practice in Federal Court in South Carolina. He is a past Chair of the Construction Section of the South Carolina Bar. He has authored or co-authored a variety of materials on construction law and litigation and is a regular presenter for continuing education programs and seminars on legal matters related to the construction industry. He is actively involved in mentoring programs and was the 2017-2018 South Carolina Bar Mentor of the Year.
Brian earned his B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from the University of South Carolina. He earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of South Carolina School of Law. He is a native of Columbia, SC. Brian is married and has two children. Outside of the office, he is active in his church and in community service activities. He enjoys spending time with his family, athletics, being outdoors, traveling, and reading.

About Mark
Mark is an associate attorney with Kenison, Dudley and Crawford, LLC in the firm’s Greenville, SC office. Mark is a native of Beaufort, South Carolina and grew up working on residential and commercial construction projects in his father’s business. Mark focuses his law practice on all aspects of residential and commercial construction, commercial and residential real estate disputes, construction contract negotiation and preparation, and community or subdivision development and management, including HOA work.
Mark is a cum laude graduate of The Citadel with a B.A. in Political Science with a minor in German. He earned his J.D. from Charleston School of Law in 2012. Mark honorably served at home and abroad in the South Carolina Army National Guard as an enlisted soldier and as an armor officer (M1 Abrams Tank Commander) for over fifteen years. Prior to joining the firm, Mark served as Judicial Law Clerk in the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit of South Carolina.
Mark is currently admitted to the South Carolina Bar Association and is a member of the Greenville County Bar Association. Mark is also a member of the South Carolina Bar Association’s Construction Law Section.
Mark resides in Greenville, South Carolina with his wife, daughter, and German Shorthaired Pointer. He is an avid hunter, outdoorsman, and enjoys playing golf.

About John
John is the managing member of Kenison, Dudley and Crawford, LLC and practices in the firm’s Greenville, SC office. He received his B.S. Degree from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina in 1995 where he graduated with academic and military honors. He attended the University of South Carolina School of Law as a Carolina Scholar where he received his J.D. Degree in 2001.
Prior to practicing law, he managed his family’s construction company where he learned an appreciation of the construction industry. He began his legal career with the construction practice group of a large national law firm in Greenville, South Carolina and later joined Kenison, Dudley & Crawford, LLC in 2005. John has diverse experience in commercial real estate, construction, and business law matters. He regularly assists various parties in all phases of construction projects, including property acquisitions, contract drafting, negotiating, and litigating payment and defective work claims. His practice also includes assisting developers and homeowners’ associations in all aspects of developing and managing residential and commercial projects. In business related matters, he negotiates and facilitates business acquisitions and transactional contracts.
John is married with 2 girls and 2 boys. He is an avid pilot holding ratings as a single and multi-engine, instrument pilot.

About Tom
Tom is a founding member of Kenison, Dudley and Crawford, LLC and practices in the firm’s Greenville, SC office. Focusing in the area of construction litigation, he is admitted in both North and South Carolina. A 1988 cum laude graduate of the Citadel, he served six years in the SCARNG as an armor officer. He earned his J.D. from the University of South Carolina in 1992. Tom is a member of the South Carolina Bar (Past Chairman of the Trial and Appellate Advocacy Section and Past Chairman of the Construction Law Section). He is also a member of the Greenville County Bar Association and the ABA Construction Law Forum. Tom is a Panel Member for the American Arbitration Association serving as an Arbitrator for the Construction Industry. He has also been trained and is available to serve as a mediator.
Tom has represented clients in state and federal Court in South Carolina, North Carolina, Ohio, and New Jersey. His trial experiences extend beyond the courtroom to the South Carolina Administrative Law Judge Division, SC State Engineer’s Office, SC DOT Dispute Review Board, numerous South Carolina LLR licensing boards, and state and federal procurement review boards and panels.
Always aware that there hasn’t been a case he couldn’t lose, Tom welcomes the opportunity to present his clients’ cases in court and in arbitration. He is a big advocate of mediation and believes a well-prepared case for trial or arbitration puts his clients in the best position to get a favorable settlement. A self-admitted construction geek, Tom considers himself blessed to have found a wonderful group of people to work with and an area of law that he loves.

About James
James is a construction and business attorney with Kenison, Dudley and Crawford, LLC in Greenville, SC, where he represents clients from various segments of the construction industry in litigation and other dispute resolution, drafting and negotiating contracts, and other matters such as regulatory compliance. He also regularly represents businesses in general commercial matters involving contract issues and judgment collections.
James is member of the South Carolina bar and the North Carolina bar. He holds a B.S. degree in civil engineering from The Citadel, an M.S. degree in civil engineering from Virginia Tech, and a J.D. from Wake Forest University, where he was a member of the Law Review and graduated cum laude and Order of the Coif.
In 2002, James began his engineering career, which included field engineering on the new Cooper River Bridge Project in Charleston and structural engineering for school and hospital projects around South Carolina. James obtained a professional engineering license in South Carolina and North Carolina (now retired/inactive). After having some exposure to construction litigation in his engineering work, James decided to become an attorney and began law school at Wake Forest University. In 2010, directly after law school, James joined a large regional law firm with a well-regarded construction practice group. In 2013, he started his own firm to focus on representing subcontractors and suppliers to industrial construction projects. In 2017, he joined Kenison, Dudley and Crawford, LLC, where he continues to be passionate about representing construction clients.
James and his wife have three boys, all soccer players, and a dog. They are involved in their local church and are avid Crossfitters.
